10-year anniversary party

My husband and I met in 7th grade at Kenny C. Guinn Junior High School. It was love at first sight (sort of) and, after 10 years of marriage, we are still going strong. For our anniversary last year, we planned a week-long trip to Paris. What better place to celebrate love?

Unfortunately, at the last minute, my doctor strongly suggested I remain in the states as I was 7+ months pregnant. We had to switch gears fast and decided an 80's-themed party was in order to celebrate our junior high school roots.

For the front of the folded invitation, we needed something iconic, harkening back to our junior high school days. I found a Pee-Chee folder image online and my clever husband recreated the artwork from his 7th-grade folder. His memory is still spot-on as it looked exactly the same as when we were 12.

I designed the inside of the invitation to look like a sheet of writing paper complete with our 7th-grade yearbook photos.

Tented food cards on the buffet table continued the junior high school writing paper theme.

Paris, it was not, but we loved celebrating with friends and I loved the whole collaborative effort of the party planning. Perhaps for our next anniversary, we'll find ourselves in the City of Lights. Here's to another 10 years!
