holiday gift crafts

A few weeks ago, I was in charge of organzing a craft night for the women in my church. I wanted to make crafts that would be great gifts for the holidays. All of the crafts were inexpensive and came with pretty packaging and tags. I think they will be perfect little presents for teachers, friends and neighbors.

For the bath salts containers, I used glass jars from Ikea ($2.99 for a set of four). There are many bath salt recipes online, but at the last minute I saw one that petit elefant posted. The recipe is 2 cups of epsom salt, 4 tablespoons of baking soda, and a few drops of your favorite essential oil. I also diluted some food coloring in water and mixed that in as well. I made the grapefruit-scented salts, pale pink and the cucumber melon-scented salts, pale green. Just fill the jar with the salt mixture and add a label for a quick and easy gift!

I ordered the tin containers for the hot chocolate gifts from Paper Mart ($26 for 24 tins). I put about 3/4 cup of hot chocolate mix (any favorite recipe will do) in a cellophane bag and topped it off with some mini marshmallows and a few chocolate chips. I tied the bag with baker's twine and placed the mixture in a tin affixed with a label. Such a simple craft makes a thoughtful gift! Click on the image below to print labels and tags for your own holiday gift crafts.

wonderful ideas. thanks for sharing the labels as well. super cute & simple.

I love these ideas. I was just thinking of doing a craft night with some of my girlfriends but of course, your ideas are way cuter than mine! So I'm new to all this crafty stuff so this might seem like a stupid question but where do I find circle labels for the epson bath salt? And what size? Are circle labels easily found at an office supply store? Thanks again for all your ideas! (I made the cream cheese cookies and the whole family raved!!!).

Love the labels which I was going to use for our craft fair which we're having in December to raise money for our little kindergarten - but I can't open the pdf! Can drag and drop onto my desktop and save as a gif but then it is not clear enough to print out. Is this a problem of my computer (a Mac) or something simple? Thanks

Hi Viv,
You should be able to double-click on the gif picture and a pdf will download to your computer. You can always email us and we can send a pdf directly to you.

Wonderful ideas! Thank you for the labels and tags! Can I ask what fonts you used for the words "hot chocolate" and "for the holidays"?

Thanks again. Love your blog! So much inspiration.

LOVE these ideas! Thanks so much for sharing!

I absolutely love these!!! I have a local moms nite out with some of my members from my site this Saturday so I will be making the bath salts as a small gift to all of them for coming.

The only question I have is do you use sticker paper for the labels or are you using card stock with double sided tape?

Again thanks so much for these. I can't wait to give these out!

So cute. I also have a question about the sticker labels. What paper do you use to print them out. I have never done online labels before.

thanks
