i love typography
I love beautiful typography. It is a slight obsession of mine. I love when multiple fonts are used together to play off one another – say the pairing of very modern Futura with the playful whimsy of Memimas. I also love when type is perfectly letterspaced, allowing each letter to stand on its own. I could go on and on but I'm afraid I may bore you.
I am in love with this font, Buttermilk, by type designer, Jessica Hische. She lives in Brooklyn, so I immediately feel a kinship towards her (my husband and I lived in Cobble Hill for many years). I first spotted this font here. Is it crazy that this is at the top of my Christmas wish list? I need to get a life....
Blonde Designs
I am speechless... I just received the most lovely present in my inbox this afternoon from a much-too-kind reader of our blog. When I originally posted this entry about this font I was coveting, I never intended anyone (other than my husband!) to purchase it for me. I am so touched. Thank you for caring what I have to say and for all your comments. It is so nice to think that I have so many friends out there that I have never met. Thank you, Cynthia Olsen, you have made my day!

Angie,
Lovely post. I would never be bored by ruminations on fonts. I won't confess how many hours I spent looking for the *right* font to use for our son's baby announcement. I finally decided on copperplate light (one of my fav clean formal picks) with his name in affable (inspired from the handwriting font style of old cigarette ads). I even bought it online - imagine you are familiar with www.whatthefont.com
Best,
Theresa & lil' Dante
PS Funny you lived in Cobble Hill - I was *next door* in Carroll gardens for awhile, a long while ago.
Oops! Just realized one of your links was to the whatthefont site, of course you know - my bad.
Ooooh, pretty! I'm eager to see what lovely new creations come of this find.
Yes, you need this in your arsenal of fonts. I say treat yourself to an early Christmas present! Thank you for sharing so many of your files recently, Angie.
I have been drooling over this font.
I too have a "slight" obsession with fonts. The right font makes it or breaks it. Thanks for sharing this new lovely with us!
Thanks for getting back to me with the name of this font. I had to laugh when I saw this post. Great timing huh? Good to know someone else puts fonts on their Christmas list!
It is indeed a good method to see if the person is normal or not.
