tree pot project

(after)

When my husband got the Christmas decorations out of the attic, I was surprised to see this 5 foot pre-lit tree. Then I remembered I bought it at Target after Christmas last year for almost nothing (the receipt was still taped on the box - $18.95!). The pot wasn't so attractive but I thought it would work with a coat of paint. My dad was in town and he offered to paint it (with the help of my 3-year old son) with some leftover greyish blue paint from my powder room. It was an easy project, especially for me who didn't lift a finger! Now the tree and it's grey pot look great in my house. I added a few gold and silver ornaments and have let the kids add their hand-made ornaments from school. Don't forget to go to Target after the holidays this year. You'll never know what you might find (and forget about until next year)!
