getting organized

 As I unpacked our suitcases from Christmas vacation, I found myself making a pile of clothes (unworn for 2+ years!) to donate to make room for a few new ones in my closet. Same went for the kids' toys that hadn't been played with in awhile. By the time I was unpacked, I had 6 overflowing bags of clothes and toys to donate. It feels so nice to start the new year with my closet feeling more spacious and a clean playroom.

I was on a roll and spruced up my office too. I got rid of things I never use to make my work space more efficient. I use 2 metal shelving units to store all of my supplies for Blonde Designs, including several boxes of envelopes in different colors and sizes. By taping an envelope on the outside of its box, the envelopes are easy to find and access. Cardboard magazine holders from Ikea make great containers for my other packaging supplies. I attached a label to the outside to make sure everything gets put back in its place.

I love the color palette that the envelopes randomly create when displayed all together.

And here's a picture of me in my office taken from my computer's photo booth. I have a computer and art supplies set up for my kids so they can "work" too. You can see my assistant in the background!

Oooh, where'd you get the boxes on the top shelf? Love those.

I love starting out the new year fresh! I'm moving at the end of the month so I'll be doing the same. Your office looks great. An organized office is a must!

Love the assistant and love the organization. I can't seem to function without an organized space, which typically involves a regular purging of the clutter. Now if I could just make the organization as pretty as yours...someday.

It all looks so beautifully organised and so neat and tidy! Love how you have a corner set aside for your children.

So nice and tidy! You're very lucky to have all that space!

Alli, the metal boxes on the top shelf are from Martha By Mail (no longer around), but they sell similar ones at Ikea.

You really are amazing. Wish you were my neighbor and could come over and help me purge. I am overwhelmed. I keep finding new places instead of getting rid of things. xoxoxo

I think New Year always equals Clean Out, as I'm doing the same (clothes, toys, etc). And what a great workspace! Your fab organization reminds me to get to Ikea sometime soon...though probably after those clothes/toys exit our house.

Oh {sigh}. I'm drooling over the shelves of envelopes. {sigh!}

Being organized feels great... especially when you have such great treasure! :-)
