fire station favors

After gathering all of the items for the party favors, I decided to put them in a clear box to show them off. I love the way the red toys look packaged together.

The favors included a flashlight, a plastic firefighter, a mini Porsche (James' favorite car), a bag of cherry candies, and a fire hydrant sugar cookie.

I wanted to use red icing to frost the fire hydrant sugar cookies, but after using a container of red food coloring gel, I could only achieve dark mauve! I should have followed Angie's instructions and used the powdered food color. Luckily, yellow was in the color palette too.

The fire station party was a success and James loved having his friends there to celebrate. Although he already told me that next year he really wants a racecar party!

WOW! WOW! WOW! I love it all. Would you mind telling me --did you just call up the fire station and say -- instead of a regular tour can we please have a birthday party and tour? Thanks!

Devra, the red fire fighters were from the dollar store. I think I just got lucky the day I went.

Angela, I just called the fire station to reserve the party. They host 1 party every Saturday at each station for FREE! So nice.

Not sure if it's kosher to ask this, but what font did you use on the labels? It really looks great.

Melanie, I got the cars at Target in the $1 section.

Carrie, the font on the labels is Verlag.

Thanks for reading our blog!

Wow.....just came across your blog and am blown away. I am in love with the way you packaged the favors and am going to do something similar but filled with hostess gifts for the friends throwing my baby shower. Would you mind telling me what size clear boxes you used to package the favors. I see there are lots of options on their website.
Thanks!

This is a great idea and something easy enough for me to do thanks! I love it! Those cars are the cutest thing ever! How amazing!

I'm wondering how did you make the fire hydrant sugar cookie. For sure James will never forget his 4th birthday. Keep it up!
