owl baby shower
With the help of a few friends from Book Club, we threw an owl-themed baby shower for our friend, Jenny, and her second baby girl, Lily Jane (love the name!). Jenny is an interior designer and has the best taste around. The theme needed to be chic and modern. This owl illustration seemed the perfect choice and I decided to use it throughout the shower.
From the shower invitation...
To the wrapping (I love plain wrapping paper adorned with nice ribbon and a label – always tasteful!)...
To the owl sugar cookie favors (check out my frosting tips and techniques here and here)....
To the water bottle labels (don't worry, we recycled every single last bottle!).
I also whipped up a banner for Lily Jane which we hung on the mantel. A sweet and relatively simple shower for a sweet and definitely not-so-simple friend!

Hi! Thanks for your inspiring blog. I love the banner. Do you make it in Adobe illustrator? Any tips for making one of my own??
darling cookies!
I love the gift wrapping - very modern and easy to personalise!

I love the owl motif and the lovely colours you've used. I wondered what the cursive font you have used for 'Congratulations' was called - could you enlighten me?
The cursive font is called "Memimas." It's one of my favorites.
Loved the party! Thank you so much! You are way too talented!
The cookies are so very cute!
Wow - those owl cookies are pretty cool! The eyes are my favorite part. :)
The banner is so sweet but I what I REALLY love is that print/painting on the mantle. I like how there is just a hint of leaf showing on the right - very cool - the party is too!
I just love everything that I see. Well, most especially the wrapping of the present. You have great ideas. Thanks.

Absolutely adorable! How did you attach the tags to the cookie favors?
