a "presidential" baby shower
My friend, Megan, just adopted a darling baby boy and, with the help of a few friends, I hosted a baby shower last week to celebrate. Megan is very involved in politics and we decided a presidential theme would be apropos. Hence, "Baby Jones for President" became our mantra. I did a bit of research on vintage political ephemera and designed a campaign logo and invitation to match.
My friend, Lindsey, whipped up campaign buttons and everyone donned one upon entering "campaign headquarters."
My friend, Kelli, has quite the collection of apothecary jars and she brought a sampling filled with red, white and silver candy.
Jones sodas (in honor of "Baby Jones") were a hit along with Blonde Designs custom water bottle labels designed to match the invitation.
Festive red tissue paper balls and white Japanese lanterns were hung above my kitchen island. We served a variety of salads including fresh fruit, caprese salad with heirloom tomatoes, a roasted vegetable pasta salad, spinach dip, homemade salsa and a variety of breads, courtesy of DW Bistro.
The dessert table was comprised of sweet rolls, blueberry scones and cream cheese pound cake topped with berry coulis and whipped cream.
Finally, for favors, Megan's mom made the most delicious biscotti which were packaged in glassine bags with ribbon and a matching campaign sticker.
All in all, a very original (in my humble opinion) and well-coordinated shower!

Oh, that's adorable. We know a little boy who is named Jones and my daughter calls him "baby Jones" whenever she talks about him. I may have to send this link over to his mom! Very cute!
It was lovely indeed. Thank you dear friend.
